City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair

be closed on Friday, April 14, in observance of Good Friday.
Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain fully operational during this time.

"The Marquette Police Department reminds the public to stay safe this Halloween. Recommended hours for trick-or-treat are 4pm-7pm on Sunday, October 31. Motorists, please anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic during this time; be extra cautious when entering and exiting driveways. We recommend turning on headlights earlier in the day and driving slowly through neighborhoods. Parents are encouraged to escort children while trick-or-treating and share the following safety tips:![]()
• Never approach someone in a car who is offering candy![]()
• Trick-or-treat only at houses with porch lights on and never enter a stranger’s home![]()
• Inspect all treats before allowing children to eat them![]()
• Consider placing reflective tape on costumes![]()
• Walk, don’t run, from house to house![]()
• Be sure children can see through mask eye-openings, and check for costume trip hazards![]()

A reminder to all citizens and visitors in the City of Marquette that the Winter Parking Ban will begin on November 1st and will be in effect until April 1st.![]()
There is No Parking on Any City Street between the hours of 1:00 am and 6:00 am. The Winter Parking Ban carries a fine of $75.00 and a vehicle could also be towed if it is impeding snow removal efforts by the plow crews.![]()
Vehicle owners should be making off-street parking arrangements for their vehicle for the winter season as soon as possible.![]()
Cooperation by everyone will make it easier for the plow crews to do their job and make the roads safer for all motorists.
The City of Marquette has a full-time position available for an Administrative Assistant in the Public Works Department. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by courses in accounting, or related field. Associate’s degree in Office Administration, Business or related field preferred. Proficiency in spreadsheet/word processing software, typing of 50 wpm and data entry of 150 keystrokes per minute is required. The entry wage is $16.62/hr. with a full benefits package. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
October 18 is the last day to register to vote in any manner other than in-person with the Clerk for this coming November 2, 2021 Election.![]()

October 19 through November 2 you must register to vote in-person in the Clerk's office with proof of residency.
Beginning Saturday, October 9, all City of Marquette public park restrooms will close at 9:00 p.m. City parks remain on the usual summer hours 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Park restrooms will be open daily 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
