PEOPLE’S CLIMATE MARCH SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY

On Saturday, April 29 there will be an organized walk from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The People’s Climate
March walk will begin at the Marquette Commons at 112 S. Third St., then proceed west on the
multi-use path to Seventh Street, then north on the multi-use path spur to Washington Street, then
east on the Washington Street sidewalk to Third Street, then south on the Third Street sidewalk to the
multi-use path, then west on the multi-use path returning to the Marquette Commons.
Participants will follow the rules of the road, however the motoring public is asked to be alert to
walkers crossing all the streets along the route.

A work session has been scheduled for Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. between the City Commission and Planning Commission to discuss the recommended Land Development Code (LDC) amendments regarding recreational marijuana licenses. The City Commission approved an ordinance in October allowing recreational licenses in the City and the Planning Commission has held four work sessions to discuss how to accommodate these licenses into the LDC.

The Planning Commission approved the recommendations after a public hearing held at their meeting on Jan. 7.
