Hiawatha Music Cooperative and the City of Marquette announce a concert by folk music
legend, Peter Yarrow, scheduled for Friday June 30. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the
Kaufman Auditorium in Marquette. This concert is made possible by a generous donation from
John and Pauline Kiltinen.
Peter Yarrow’s talents as a creative artist, both with legendary trio Peter, Paul & Mary and as a
solo performer, are frequently directed at using music to convey a message of humanity and
caring. His gift for songwriting has produced some of the most moving songs from Peter Paul
and Mary, including “Puff the Magic Dragon, “Day is Done” and “Light One Candle”. As a
member of the renowned musical trio, Yarrow has earned multiple gold and platinum albums, as
well as numerous Grammy Awards. Over the years, many issues – including equal rights, peace,
the environment, gender quality, homelessness, hospice care, and education – have moved Peter
to commit his time and talent.
Tickets may be purchased at hiawathamusic.org, by phone at 226-8575, or in person at 129 W.
Baraga Ave., Suite B, from noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. All website sales and phone
sales will be held at the door for pick-up before the concert. General seating tickets are available
for $35, and there are a limited number of $50 tickets available for a special meet-and-greet
reception with Peter Yarrow from 5 to 6 p.m.
