SUPERHEROES ON THE RUN EVENT SET FOR JULY 1

On Saturday, July 1, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing through 1 p.m., the Superior Arts Youth
Theater will be hosting “Superheroes on the Run”. Events will include a kids 1-mile run, a 5k run
and a 10k run on the multi-use path.
The runs begin at Lakeview Arena then head east on the sidewalk on Fair Avenue, and north along
the multi-use path toward Presque Isle Park. The 1-mile run will turn around before the intersection
with Wright Street. 5k runners will turn around near the Dead River Bridge. The 10k race continues
to and around Presque Isle before returning. Returning runners will use the multi-use path along Pine
Street and then cross Pine Street to return to Lakeview Arena.
No roads will be closed, however the public is asked to be aware of pedestrians crossing the streets.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2019, Northern Michigan University will be holding their annual homecoming parade. The following streets will be closed to thru traffic for the parade with a Police escort:

Pine Street from Lakeshore Blvd. to Fair Avenue
Fair Avenue from Pine Street to Third Street
Third Street from Fair Avenue to Hewitt Avenue
Hewitt Avenue from Third Street to Front Street
Front Street from Hewitt Avenue to Park Street
Park Street from Front Street to High Street
High Street from Park Street to College Avenue
College Avenue from High Street to Front Street
Front Street from College Avenue to Fair Avenue

In case of inclement weather, the parade will be held on Saturday, September 21st from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
