US 41 Corridor Stage 3 work begins Friday

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, US 41 between Front Street and McClellan Avenue (M553) will experience traffic disruptions for the start of Stage 3 construction work. This stage of the US 41 portion of the Marquette Hospital Transportation Improvements Project will involve the closure of the two existing east-bound traffic lanes. Traffic will be diverted to one west- and east-bound lane on the north side of US 41. This stage is scheduled to be substantially complete in four weeks.

Seventh Street will still be closed to through traffic off US 41 for this stage. The Grove Street intersection will also be closed. A temporary roadway has been constructed off Homestead Street to allow traffic to access Grove Street and the other local streets in that area. A temporary traffic signal will be set up for the temporary roadway to allow cross traffic to enter US 41. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing.

A staging schematic can be accessed at the City of Marquette web site under the Marquette Hospital Transportation Improvements Project link on the front page of this website.

Bacco Construction Company is the general contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
