Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, Presque Isle Avenue will be closed from College Avenue to Fair Avenue to through traffic for Phase 4 reconstruction work. It is expected the Kaye Avenue intersection will be closed for approximately three weeks.
The Presque Isle Avenue work will detour traffic from Presque Isle Avenue, Magnetic Street, Third Street, and onto Fair Avenue. NMU students can access campus by way of Magnetic Street to Lee Street.
Businesses in this area are open and patrons can access them by way of the detour route to Wright Street and onward to Presque Isle Avenue. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing.
A phasing schematic can be accessed at the City of Marquette Engineering Division web site under the Presque Isle Avenue Reconstruction Project link at www.mqtcty.org.
Hebert Construction Company is the general contractor for this project.
The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
