Applications For City Commission Now Available

Applications are now available for City residents seeking appointment to the vacant seat on Marquette City Commission.

Applications are available through the City website, at www.marquettemi.gov/commissionapplication, and in person at the City Clerk’s Office, located at 300 W. Baraga Ave. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Under the Marquette City Charter, “vacancies in elective offices shall, within 60 days, be filled for the unexpired term of the officer whose office has become vacant, by appointment by a majority vote of the members of the city commission then in office of a person possessing the qualifications for the office.”
