2018 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule

The Marquette County Landfill will be conducting the Household Hazardous Waste Collection one Wednesday a month at the Compost/Household Rubbish site located at 1415 Pioneer Rd. The Household Rubbish site will be closed during this collection.

Marquette County Residents may dispose of Hazardous Waste from 3 to 7 p.m. during the following dates:

June 6
July 11
August 8
September 12
October 3

Farmers Market under the Big Top, tomorrow. We are in the U.P. and have to adapt to the weather. Too much going on not to. So tomorrows market will be set up under 2 large event tents on the Commons plaza. The market cashier and some vendors will be inside the building. The fireplace will be on too. Winter squash tasting and Power of Produce tomorrow. Lots to see and do, plan to come downtown in the morning. Market accepts cash, debit/credit cards, SNAP, Double Up Food Bucks, WIC Project FRESH and Senior Market FRESH and Hoophouses for Heath.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, Oberstar, Inc. will be proceeding with sanitary sewer lateral replacements on Third Street between Fisher Street and Mather Street. This
work will be done with intermediate road closures and the public is urged to use extreme caution and follow all warning signs and other traffic control measures. The work is expected to last less than one week for this phase of the project. Access to Mather Street will be available by means of Fourth Street.

The proposal would change the way PILT is calculated between the City of Marquette and the Marquette Board of Light and Power (BLP). Both the City and the BLP worked together to develop this change.
