Citywide lighting upgrades to begin June 25

The City will be performing a citywide upgrade to street lights beginning June 25 and continuing through late fall. Expect intermittent outages and lane closures throughout the City during this project.

The public is reminded to exercise caution and to pay close attention to all traffic control signage, lane divider barrels and cones, and to be aware of all construction workers and equipment in the construction zone.

Presque Isle Avenue traffic shift starts June 20

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, Presque Isle Avenue between Wright Street and Center Street will only accommodate southbound traffic. North bound traffic will be detoured to Fitch Avenue. This change in the traffic patterns is required due to the work required to stub water and sewer laterals to the properties on the west side of the street. Work is also required to provide a safe work area for the construction personnel and provide safe access for the traveling public. This work will last until June 29.

This Presque Isle Avenue work will detour traffic to down Center, Fitch and Wright. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing.

Hebert Construction is the general contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
