Notice to registered voters regarding recent mailing

The City of Marquette was recently notified that residents may be on the receiving end of a mass mailing regarding Michigan voter registration.

While the mailings from the Voter Participation Center and the Center for Voter Information are directed at possible unregistered voters, even registered voters have reported receiving the mailing.

The City of Marquette is unaffiliated with this mailing.

If residents would like to verify their registration status, they can visit www.michigan.gov/vote, or they can contact the Clerk’s Office directly at 228-0430.

Those with questions or comments related to the mailing can contact the Voter Participation Center directly at 202-659-9570; the Center for Voter Information can be reached at 202-766-5675.

Because of the recent popularity of walking and skating on the ice in the lower harbor and the expected warmer weather this week, we'd like to remind residents that there is a strong potential for the harbor ice to shift and/or breakup without much notice.Due to warming weather and strong currents, Lake Superior ice conditions may deteriorate rapidly.Your safety is your responsibility. If you do go out on the ice, let someone know where you are going, do not go alone, and check current ice condition reports before you go. Remember, when in doubt…do not go out.If you have any questions, please contact the Marquette City Fire Department: (906) 225-8936. ... See MoreSee Less
