City Election Board meeting moved to 2 p.m.

The Oct. 23 meeting of the Marquette City Election Board, originally scheduled for 3 p.m., has been rescheduled and will now begin at 2 p.m. The meeting will take place in City Commission Chambers, located in City Hall at 300 W. Baraga Ave.

During this meeting, the board will conduct the public accuracy test for equipment to be used in the Nov. 6 General Election.

Manager offers community office hours

Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli will hold his next community office hours on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Dandelion Cottage room, located on the first floor of the Peter White Public Library, near the Huron Mountain Gallery. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.

HAC meeting rescheduled and relocated

The Harbor Advisory Committee meeting scheduled for Oct. 16 has been rescheduled for Thursday, Oct. 4 at 5:15 p.m. The meeting will be held in the first-floor conference room of the City of Marquette’s Municipal Service Center, located at 1100 Wright St. There will be a stakeholder meeting for the Founders Landing Pier Re-Use Project, followed by the regular Harbor Advisory Committee meeting.

Some temporary traffic signals to be utilized this week

A temporary four-way stop will be in effect between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the following locations for the traffic signal upgrade:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 2 – Wright Street and McClellan Avenue Intersection
  • Wednesday, Oct.3 – Fair Avenue and McClellan Avenue Intersection
  • Thursday, Oct. 4 – Lincoln Avenue and College Avenue Intersection

New traffic signals will be activated and old signals will be removed during this time. The public is reminded to exercise caution, pay close attention to all traffic control signage and to be aware of all construction workers and equipment in the construction zone.

Wright Electric is the contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
