Traffic disruptions possible during sidewalk replacement

Beginning the week of July 1, various areas in the City of Marquette will experience traffic and sidewalk disruptions due to the City’s annual sidewalk repair and replacement program. Arrow Constructions will be performing the work at various locations throughout the City of Marquette.

For those residents being directly affected with sidewalk replacements fronting their homes the contractor will provide you with information on the process.

The public is advised to use caution when traveling through these areas and be aware of all traffic control. Work is scheduled to last five weeks.

Park Street reconstruction beginning July 1

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 1 Park Street between Fourth Street and Lee Street will be closed to through traffic for Phase 1 reconstruction work. This is the first of two phases. The phase 1 limits will incorporate the eastern half of this block and this phase is expected to last four weeks.

The Park Street phase 1 work will detour traffic to Fourth Street, Magnetic Street and Lee Street. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction, detour and advisory signing.

A phasing schematic can be accessed at the City of Marquette Engineering Division web site under the Park Street Reconstruction Project link at www.marquettemi.gov.

Smith Construction is the general contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process.
