Margaret (Peggy) Wendrick, New Hire

Margaret (Peggy) Wendrick has been hired as the Parking Enforcement/Police Support Officer effective July 2. Peggy has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Northern Michigan University and served 10 years in the Army National Guard. She was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain in 1992. She is replacing Ryan Heidtman, who transferred back to Public Works earlier this year.

‘Superheroes on the Run’ events set for July 6

On Saturday, July 6, beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing through 1 p.m., the Superior Arts Youth Theater will be hosting “Superheroes on the Run”. Events will include a kids 1-mile run, a 5k run and a 10k run on the multi-use path.
The runs begin at Lakeview Arena and head north along the multi-use path adjacent to Lakeshore Boulevard toward Presque Isle Park. The 1-mile run will turn around before the intersection with Wright Street. The 5k runners will turn around near the Dead River Bridge. The 10k race continues to and around Presque Isle before returning. Returning runners will use the multi-use path along Pine Street and finish west of Lakeview Arena.
No roads will be closed; however the public is asked to be aware of pedestrians crossing the streets.

Angeli office hours planned for July 10

Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli will hold his next community office hours on Wednesday, July 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in the main floor conference room of the Peter White Public Library. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
