In observance of the July 4 holiday, the City of Marquette Compost and Household Rubbish site located at 1415 Pioneer Rd. will be closed Wednesday, July 3 and Saturday, July 6.
The site will reopen Monday, July 8 with its normal scheduled hours.

Construction at Founders Landing has started for the new pier project. Effective immediately, the boardwalk at Founders Landing and the City multi-use path between Spring Street and the trail intersection near the Lakeshore Boulevard and US 41 intersection will be closed to through traffic. The closure is required to accommodate construction work on the City South Pier project and for building construction at the Two Marquette Place development.![]()

Multi-use path traffic will be detoured around this area by means of the sidewalk along Front Street/US 41. The closure and detour are expected to remain in effect until the end of the 2021 construction season.![]()
