Spectacle 2019: Call for artists, performers, creatives

The Marquette Spectacle is looking for artists, performers, musicians and creative community members of all ages to participate in the 2019 show. The open call and information meeting will take place Thursday, Aug. 15, at 6:30 p.m. at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center. This year’s Spectacle is aiming to bring the community together through a combination of installation work, theater, dance and music. All are invited to share their acts and talents, or to sign up to volunteer. Opportunities include parade, park installations, costume design, pop-up performances and finale. All are welcome!

The Marquette Spectacle will be held on Oct. 12 at Harlow Park and based upon the theme of “Beyond the Veil” – what lurks beyond the edges of reality in our woods, our cities, ourselves? The artistic direction of the event will continue to be honed as more become involved in the project.

For more information or questions, please contact the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center at 228-0472 or via email at arts-culture@marquettemi.gov. The Marquette Arts and Culture Center is located 217 N. Front Street in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library.
