Marquette Spectacle

The City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center is proud to announce the return of the Marquette Spectacle on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.

The Spectacle is a free, family-friendly outdoor performance of grand proportions, steeped in local culture. It is a celebration of community and art through pageantry, installations, pop-up performances, percussion, theatrical dance and a street parade. The Spectacle is inclusive and accessible for all ages and abilities.

This year’s title is Outré – An Alluring Dream. We are excited to introduce the first Spectacle Parade and invite the community to march with us! Whether you are a family wearing costumes, an individual who would like to showcase their unicycle skills, or a business building comradery & advertising what you do we encourage everyone to come out & be spectacular! If interested in participating, we ask that you contact the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center to reserve a spot in the lineup! Participants will assemble at the Marquette Commons at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2019. With the official start time at 5 p.m. where the parade will march down Washington Street.

The parade finishes at Harlow Park where the community will experience the world of Outré. The park will include over 20 pop-up performances, art installations, live music and food trucks. The evening concludes at sunset with a finale of dance and fire at 7 p.m. on Bluff Street, overlooking the Park.

In case of rain delay, makeup date will be Sunday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. For more information on the event or how to get involved, please contact the City of Marquette Arts & Culture Center at 228-0472 or email arts-culture@marquettemi.gov.
