Lakeshore Boulevard closed

Effective immediately, Lakeshore Blvd., from Hawley St. to Wright St,, will be closed to through traffic due to high wave activity causing flooding. An announcement will be released when the closure is lifted.

City Manager to hold office hours

Marquette City Manager Mike Angeli will hold his next community office hours on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon in the main floor conference room of the Peter White Public Library. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.

MSHS Homecoming Parade planned for Oct. 4

On Friday, Oct. 4, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and continuing through approximately 6:30 p.m., the Marquette Senior High School will be holding their annual homecoming parade.

The parade will begin at the Graveraet School, exit west east on Hewitt Avenue to Third Street, proceed north on Third Street to Magnetic Street, then west on Magnetic Street to Lincoln Avenue, then north on Lincoln Avenue to College Avenue, and then west to the MSHS High School parking lot.

Due to recent snow accumulations, the fall leaf pickup has been suspended, and no further leaf pickup will take place this year. The compost site located at 1415 Pioneer Rd. will be open for disposal for the last day of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 3 p.m. to dark. Crews will return in the spring to
conduct brush and leaf collection.

The City of Marquette household rubbish drop-off site, located at 1415 Pioneer Road, will be open for the last day of the season, on Saturday, Nov. 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Compost site will be open Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 3 p.m. to dusk. This site will then be closed for the season.

An announcement will be issued when both sites reopen Spring 2020.
