Dec. 12 DDA informational meeting planned

Pursuant to Michigan Public Act 57 of 2018, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board of Directors will be holding the second of two required annual informational meeting on Thursday, Dec. 12. The meeting will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled DDA Board meeting, and will be at the Marquette Downtown Development Authority office, 337 W. Washington St. The regular Board meeting will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the corresponding informational meeting will take place at 8:30 a.m.

The purpose of the informational meeting is to inform the public of the Authority’s goals and projected projects to be undertaken in the coming year.

Todd Collins, Resignation

Todd Collins, Patrol Officer in the Marquette Police Department, resigned effective Dec. 2. Todd was hired in September of 2008 as a patrol officer. For several years, he has also been one of the department’s two K-9 handlers. With Todd’s resignation, K-9 Skud will also be retired from service.

Due to Executive Orders issued from the Office of the Governor, the July 27 City Commission meeting will be held without the public in physical attendance. The public is invited to view and participate in the meeting electronically.
The meeting will be streamed on Channel 191 and YouTube starting at 6 p.m. Please note that the livestreams may have at least a 20 second delay.

Public Participation
There will be two options for public participation in the meetings: phone conferencing or written comment. There will be two public comment periods during each meeting, one at the beginning and one at the end. Comments will be limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address. Written comments will be limited to 500 words. Written comments can be submitted directly to shobbins@marquettemi.gov, written submissions will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Monday, July 27.
