City Commission meeting closed to the public; public comment still available

The March 16 meeting of the Marquette City Commission will be physically closed to the public, in order to comply with social distancing requirements recently established throughout the State of Michigan.

The meeting, which begins at 6 p.m., will be broadcast live on Charter Cable Channel 191 and will be streamed live online at www.marquettemi.gov/meetingfeed.

Prior to the meeting, residents can submit public comments, which will then be read into the record. All public comments can be submitted digitally through email to shobbins@marquettemi.gov. All comments submitted will be read into the public record during the meeting’s normal public comment period. Written comments must be submitted no later than 5:45 p.m.

When submitting a public comment, please include your first and last name, as well as your full address. Additionally, please limit submissions to 500 words or less, as the three-minute speaking time limit will still be in effect.

Viewers can also call into the meeting to offer public comment. Those interested in speaking during either public comment period should call in advance utilizing the following information.
