Continued COVID-19 impacts to City operations

Due to the extension of the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order, all City facilities will continue to be closed to the public until May 1. This includes City Hall, the Municipal Service Center, Fire Stations 1 and 2, the Police Department, Lakeview Arena, the Senior Center, the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Water Treatment Plant. Presque Isle Park will be closed to vehicular traffic, however pedestrian traffic is still permissible. City announcements and Commission agendas will be sent to local media and will be available online.

The City will remain at reduced staffing levels and phone availability will be limited. To contact the City about essential business, please prioritize electronic communication when possible. Contact information for each City Department is available at www.marquettemi.gov/departments/.

All non-essential meetings and gatherings remain canceled. This includes meetings of all City statutory and advisory boards and committees scheduled between now and May 1, unless the meetings are critical in nature. If a meeting is deemed critical in nature, City announcements will be sent at that time. This does not apply to City Commission meetings. Instructions on how to view and participate in City Commission meetings are published prior to the meetings. At this time, the April 16 Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Advisory Board meeting and April 21 Planning Commission meeting will be held virtually. Participation information will be published prior to those meetings.

For emergency services, please dial 911. For non-emergency police assistance, please dial 906-228-0400. The Police Department will be evaluating non-emergency calls and will dispatch services accordingly. For more information on billing, senior services and updates regarding City services during the COVID-19 pandemic, please visit www.marquettemi.gov/covid19.
