June 29 Commission Meeting: Participation Details

Due to Executive Orders issued from the office of the governor, the June 29 City Commission regular meeting will be held in Commission Chambers without the public in physical attendance. The public is invited to view and participate in the meeting electronically.

The meeting will be streamed on Channel 191 and YouTube starting at 6 p.m. The YouTube channel is located at www.youtube.com/user/CityofMarquetteGov.

Public Participation
There will be two options for public participation in these meetings: phone conferencing or written comment. There will be two public comment periods for each meeting, one at the beginning and one at the end. Comments will be limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address. Written comments will be limited to 500 words.
Members of the public wishing to call in and make a comment over the phone will need to call 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID (861 8437 2942).

When participating via phone conferencing, you will be placed into a virtual lobby/on-hold until the Public Comment portions of the meetings are reached. Once Public Comment begins, the Mayor will go through each person waiting in the lobby one at a time and provide them with the opportunity to address the Commission. It is recommended that participants follow the meeting on Channel 191 or YouTube to know when the Public Comment portion is occurring and be ready to make their comment.

The phone conference lobby will open at 5:50 p.m.

City offices closed for July 4 holiday

City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; the Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Avenue; the Arts and Culture Center, 217 N. Front St. (in the Peter White Public Library); and the Municipal Service Center, 1100 Wright Street, will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time. There will be no change in garbage pickup for City residents.

On Monday, July 6, City facilities will continue being closed to the public, in compliance with Executive Orders issued from the office of the Governor. This includes City Hall, the Municipal Service Center, Fire Stations 1 and 2, the Police Department, Lakeview Arena, the Senior Center, the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Water Treatment Plant. City operations will continue; however, the City will be operating at reduced staffing levels for the duration of the Executive Order and phone availability will be limited. For emergency services, please dial 911. For non-emergency police assistance, please dial 906-228-0400. The Police Department will be evaluating non-emergency calls and will dispatch services accordingly.

July 2 BZA Meeting: Participation Details

The July 2 Board of Zoning Appeals meeting will be held virtually with Board members and Staff attending remotely through Zoom video conferencing.

This meeting will be streamed on the City of Marquette YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/CityofMarquetteGov). Please note that the livestream will have at least a 20 second delay.

Public Participation
There will be three options for public participation in this meeting: video conferencing, phone conferencing, or written comment. There will be three public comment periods for the meeting, one at the beginning, one during the variance request, and one at the end. Comments will be limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address.
