Officer Nathaniel Dawson has been selected for the vacant Corporal position in the Detective Bureau effective Sept. 8. The position was vacant due to promotions since the retirement of Captain Mike Kohler last summer. Officer Dawson has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from NMU with a minor in Sociology and graduated from the NMU Regional Police Academy as Squad Leader in 1999. Nate has been with the Marquette City Police Department since 2000 serving in many capacities, most recently as the Youth Services Officer in the Marquette Area Public Schools since 2017.
