DEO Gallery August Exhibit: New Realities

Marquette Arts and Culture announces the August Deo Gallery exhibition: “New Realities”. This exhibit will feature oil paintings by John Lundeen and mixed media sculptures by Wayne Francis.

John Lundeen grew up near Lake Superior, in Northern Wisconsin and has a professional background in Architecture. He received his degree in art in the 1960s and has been painting ever since. The eight paintings displayed in this exhibit are a part of his personal collection and not for sale.

Wayne Francis has a professional background in Art education and administration. He is now a full-time artist and musician and divides his time between Marquette Michigan and Pine Island Florida. His work delves into that magical, whimsical realm of the artist as interpreter of the human experience. His sculptures will be available for sale for the duration of the exhibition.

“New Realities” will be running from August 1 to August 27 with an artist reception on Thursday, August 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend and refreshments will be provided. Peter White Public Library will host their public artist receptions concurrently featuring artists John French in the Lower Level Reception Gallery and Paula Kiesling in the Huron Mountain Club Gallery.

The Deo Gallery is part of The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center, located in the lower level of the Peter White Public Library.
