Halloween Trick or Treat Schedule for the City of Marquette

Halloween Trick-or-Treating in the City of Marquette is scheduled for Thursday, October 31, 2024. The recommended hours to be observed for Trick-or-Treating are from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Motorists, please anticipate heavy pedestrian traffic during this time; be extra cautious when entering and exiting driveways. We recommend turning on headlights earlier in the day and driving slowly through neighborhoods.

For the children's safety, parents are encouraged to accompany them while trick-or treating and share the following tips:

• Never approach someone in a car who is offering candy

• Trick-or-treat only at houses with porch lights on and never enter a stranger’s home

• Inspect all treats before allowing children to eat them

• Consider placing reflective tape on costumes to be more visible to others

• Walk, don’t run from house-to-house

• Be sure children can see through mask eye-openings, and check for trip hazards

• Always stay on sidewalks and look both ways before crossing streets

Division Street Closure

Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Heritage Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library. Special Note: We want to hear from you! The City of Marquette is transitioning to a cart-only system for all solid waste and recycling. This critical city service will be more efficient and safer with the new system. Before this change goes into effect during Summer 2025, we want to hear from you! Attend the upcoming City Manager Office Hours and share your feedback with us. Whether the change is one you welcome or you have questions, please share. Our goal is to understand what residents may have questions on related to this change, and do what we can to make the shift as successful as possible for all. Can’t attend office hours? Be on the lookout for additional opportunities to provide feedback on the upcoming changes. ... See MoreSee Less
