The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is seeking public input about dogs in playgrounds during public comment at their next meeting on December 16 at 5:30 p.m. Concerns have been raised about public health hazards from dog waste and potential undesirable interactions with kids. Members of the board will be discussing a proposal by City staff to enact a potential dog ban at playgrounds in the City of Marquette. There will be two public comment opportunities on the agenda; each individual is allowed three minutes to comment. Those who cannot attend can email a written comment to the staff liaison, Andrew MacIver, at amaciver@marquettemi.gov.
