Request for Qualifications: Queen City Courts Mural

The Marquette Public Arts Commission (MPAC) is seeking a qualified artist or artist team to design and paint a site-specific artwork on the surface of the Hurley Park Basketball Court, Marquette, MI. MPAC would like to commission artwork that will help revitalize the Hurley Park public basketball court facilities and engage the City and neighborhood allowing it to become a point of pride in the area.

Individuals with demonstrated professional experience must provide a letter of interest, along with evidence of qualifications to be considered by MPAC for this call for art. Three finalists will be selected and compensated for their design proposals.

North 4th Street - Overhead Electrical Line Maintenance

Beginning at 7:00 A.M. Thursday, January 7th, 2021 the north bound lane of North 4th St between West Bluff St and West Ridge St will be closed.

The maintenance project is estimated to last approximately 1 day. For your safety and the safety of our employees, please do not approach crews while they are working. The tasks that they perform put them near energized equipment where the outmost focus and concentration is necessary.

We understand that our activities may cause an inconvenience and want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation while we perform these modifications and upgrades.

The maintenance project is estimated to last approximately 1 day. For your safety and the safety of our employees, please do not approach crews while they are working. The tasks that they perform put them near energized equipment where the outmost focus and concentration is necessary.

Glass Recycle Collection Reminder

A separate curbside glass recycle collection will be conducted this week January 4 - 8. The first full business week of each month will be dedicated to glass recycle collection only. Please place your glass in a hard-walled container next to your garbage and it will be collected on your scheduled pick up day. Recycle not placed in a hard-walled container will not be collected.

No other recyclables will be collected that week. The remainder of the month will be dedicated to the single stream recycle collection only. A glass collection schedule is available on the City of Marquette website www.marquettemi.gov 

Garbage collection schedule and times remain the same.
