Established by the City Commission on Jan. 13, 1946 pursuant to the provisions of Public Act 33 of 2008, and the City Charter, Section 2-13. The Commission is responsible for developing and adopting a Master Plan for the City; reviews development proposals, subdivisions, and makes recommendations on zoning matters to the Commission. The Commission also has review authority over the six-year Capital Outlay Budget through Section 7-2 of the City Charter.
