Downtown Development Authority
The Downtown Development Authority was established under the provisions of Act 197, Public Acts of Michigan of 1975; established by the City Commission on Jan. 12, 1976 through Ordinance #298. The DDA is responsible for the planning and implementation of economic development, historic preservation, and prevention of deterioration in the downtown business district. State law sets the powers, duties and procedures.
