Non-Discrimination Policy and Title VI Plan
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. 200d) and related statues and regulations provide that no person shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, or disabilities be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal funds.
The City of Marquette is committed to ensuring compliance with Title VI by ensuring that the fundamental principles of equal opportunity are upheld in all decisions involving our employees and contractors/consultants, and to ensure that all persons are afforded access to our programs and services. The City of Marquette’s programs and activities will be free from unlawful discrimination, whether or not those programs and activities are federally funded.
The City of Marquette will actively pursue the prevention of any Title VI deficiencies or violations and will take the necessary steps to ensure compliance. The City of Marquette designates the City Manager as the Title VI officer with the responsibility of ensuring the city complies with the Title VI regulations.
