Residents of the City of Marquette are required by state law and local regulation to license cats and dogs. In order to obtain a license, animals must first have an up-to-date rabies vaccination.

Failure to obtain a license for your dog or cat could result in a civil infraction, under Chapter 8 of the Marquette City Code.

The City also operates a seasonal off-leash area for dogs, from Nov. 1 through April 30.
