City Commission Schedules February 14 Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Marquette City Commission will hold a February 14 Public Hearing on the Consideration of a Brownfield Plan for the Ore Dock Brewing Company.

The Combined Brownfield Plan contains the requirements under Act 381, P.A. 1996, as amended, that provides for capture of increased incremental property taxes on qualifying Brownfield Eligible Property to reimburse certain Brownfield Eligible Activities to assist in the redevelopment of the property. The Eligible Property included in the Combined Brownfield Plan is the property and blighted building at 214 S. Front Street in the City of Marquette, Michigan.

At the public hearing, all citizens, taxpayers and representatives or officials from any taxing jurisdiction subject to capture shall be afforded the opportunity to be heard regarding all aspects of the Combined Brownfield Plan.

A copy of the Combined Brownfield Plan is available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office in Marquette City Hall at 300 W. Baraga Ave. 

The public hearing will be held in City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 300 West Baraga Avenue, at 6 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022. Any person wishing to comment on the proposed items may do so at that time.
