Lakeshore Boulevard Shoreline Restoration Project

Work has now begun on the Lakeshore Boulevard Shoreline Restoration Project. The project is located along Lakeshore Boulevard between Pine Street and Hawley Street. The project involves the construction of a living revetment that is designed to attenuate wave energy and prevent further shoreline erosion. The living revetement will be comprised of mainly cobble sized quarried stones. Also included is the construction of coastal habitat, walking paths and a boardwalk overlook.
Smith Construction Inc. is the general contractor. The project area will be fenced off and closed to the public. The City multi-use path will remain open. The public is urged to take caution, follow all traffic control measures and be aware of truck traffic that is crossing the City multi-use pathway. Construction is expected to last 18 months.
