On Saturday June 15, 2024, Presque Isle Avenue between Kaye Avenue and College Avenue will be closed to traffic for the Care Clinic “Walking with Families Event” from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Traffic will be detoured via Kaye Avenue, Third Street and College Avenue.
Motorists are asked to take caution when travelling in the area.
OPENING RECEPTION FOR PUBLIC GALLERY PROGRAM EXHIBITS
On Thursday June 13, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., the Peter White Public Library and the City of Marquette Office of Arts and Culture will be hosting the opening receptions for the new exhibits in the Public Gallery Program. Light refreshments provided. Receptions are free and open to the public. Exhibits are accessible during regular Library hours and will be on display through the end of July.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday June 10, 2024, Oberstar Construction will be closing Division Street to through traffic between McCellan Avenue (M553) and Pioneer Road. The closure is required for a sewer main installation near McCellan Avenue. The closure is expected to last one week. Residents along Division Street will have access to their homes from the north end of the closure at Pioneer Road. Traffic will be detoured around the construction via McClellan Avenue and Pioneer Road.
The public is advised to take caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, June 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Smith Construction Inc. will
be closing Front Street between Prospect Street and Park Street, and Crescent Street between High Street and Third Street to through traffic. Sanitary sewer mains are being extended near the intersection of Crescent and Front. The underground phase of the work is anticipated to be completed by the end of July, with restoration and asphalt paving to follow. Pedestrian traffic will be maintained throughout the project area. Residents within the closure area will receive information from Smith Construction regarding potential utility disruptions, parking, and driveway access.
The public is urged to take caution and follow all traffic control measures.
Beginning on Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30, Kildahl Ave. between West Ave. and North McClellan Ave. will be closed to through traffic for a sanitary lateral replacement.

The basketball court at Harlow Park will be closed on Monday, May 27, weather permitting, for the resurfacing of the playing surface. Work is expected to take all day and will be indicated with signage.
The Compost drop-off site located at 1415 Pioneer Rd., will be closed Saturday, May 25 and the Household Rubbish site will be closed Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. The Compost site will reopen Tuesday, May 28, 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and the Household Rubbish site will reopen Wednesday, May 29, 3:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. or when capacity is met.
City of Marquette official summer park hours begin Tuesday, May 28. Summer hours are 7 a.m. to 11p.m. daily.
The seasonal portion of Peter White Drive in Presque Isle Park is open during park hours with the exception of closure for walking hours on the following days and times:
Monday and Wednesdays: 6 p.m. to park close.
Tuesday and Thursday: 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
A reminder, except for Tourist Park campsites, no camping or overnight parking is permitted in City parks.
