Local Candidate Filing Deadline Update

In November 2024, Marquette city voters approved an amendment to the City Charter, eliminating primary elections for local offices. As a result, the filing deadline for local offices has shifted from April to July.

For the upcoming November 2025 local election, the filing deadline is set for 4 p.m. on July 22 for candidates for both the Marquette City Commission and the Board of Light Power.

Nominating packets will be available in the City Clerk’s office beginning in June.
