Off-leash area opening delayed, park entranced closed

Due to ongoing construction in the Tourist Park Day Use area, the opening of the off-leash dog park will be delayed. For public safety, beginning Monday, October 20 the Power Mill Road entrance to the Tourist Park Campground (off Sugarloaf Avenue) will be closed to all traffic, including vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.

The anticipated opening date of the off-leash dog park is November 15.

This delay is necessary to protect both dogs and visitors from hazards associated with the construction, which involves heavy machinery and hot asphalt paving.

To make up for the delayed opening, the off-leash dog park season will be extended through May 10, 2026.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.
