Due to the continuing impacts of the recent winter storm, all programming
scheduled to take place in the Baraga Gym on Tuesday, Dec. 30 and Wednesday,
Dec. 31 is cancelled, effective immediately. All user groups have been notified of
this schedule shift.

Due to the severe winter storm and widespread power outages affecting our community, the City of Marquette is opening Commission Chambers in City Hall as a temporary place for residents to warm up and charge essential electronics.

City Hall will be open during normal business hours, closing at 4:30 p.m.

Residents are welcome to stop in to get out of the cold, warm up, and charge phones or other small devices.

Please use caution when traveling, as roads and sidewalks may still be hazardous. In the case of an emergency, please call 911.

West Washington Street will be closed between Front Street and Third Street for the annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop from Wednesday, December 31 at 8 a.m., until Thursday, January 1 at 6:30 a.m.

The motoring public is advised to use caution when traveling near this area, and to be aware of all pedestrians crossing the streets.

Due to a continued power outage, Lakeview Arena in the City of Marquette remains closed. All programming scheduled for today, December 30, is cancelled.
