City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; the Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Avenue; and the Municipal Service Center, 1100 Wright Street, will be closed the following days:
Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time.
There will be no change in garbage pickup for City residents.
The Marquette City Planning Commission meeting originally scheduled for December 16, 2025, has been canceled due to a lack of business.
The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) meeting scheduled for December 15, 2025 has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting is January 12, 2026
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority will be hosting the annual Holiday Parade. The parade will start at the Berry Events parking lot and exit onto Pine Street. The parade will then proceed south on Pine Street to Fair Avenue, then west on Fair Avenue to Third Street, then south on Third Street to its conclusion at Third Street & Baraga Avenue.
The following street will be closed to all traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.:
• Third Street from Bluff Street to Spring Street
.The following streets will be closed to through traffic from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.:
• Washington Street from Front Street to Third Street
• Washington Street from Third Street to Fourth Street
• Main Street from Front Street to Third Street
• Jackson Cut Alley from Fourth Street to Main Street
• Bluff Street Alley from Front Street to Third Street
The streets will re-open upon conclusion of the parade at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed between Pine Street and Fair Avenue on Tuesday, December 2 for stormwater ditch maintenance. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed by 2 p.m
