The Marquette Public Art Commission (MPAC) has approved the design for a new landscape-based public art installation and is presenting it to the community for review and public comment. The landscape-based public art design is planned within Marquette Lions Lakeside Park as a public gathering space and functional outdoor extension of the future City Cultural Trailhead (501 S Front St).

Funded entirely through private donations and grant support, the public art landscape is made possible by a gift from the Eiben Family. The project will be an aesthetic enhancement to the exterior accessible pathway improvements at the new City Cultural Trailhead, which are funded through a Michigan Department of Natural Resources SPARK Grant.

Project design and details are posted online: https://mqtcompass.com/blog/culturaltrail/public-art-landscape/ Comments may be submitted by email to City Arts & Culture Manager Tiina Morin or as public comment during the MPAC Special Meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Peter White Public Library Lions Club Room, 217 N. Front St., Marquette. Comments will be collected until Noon on Thursday, March 5th
