Annual Blueberry Festival - Road Closures

The following streets will be closed to traffic on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. for the Blueberry Festival:

  • Washington Street from Third Street to Front Street
  • Front Street from Washington Street to Spring Street
  • Front Street from Baraga Avenue to Spring Street

The following streets will be closed to through traffic:

  • Front Street from Bluff Street to Washington Street
  • Main Street from Third Street to Lakeshore Boulevard

Traffic will be detoured using Baraga Avenue, Third Street, and Bluff Street.

To ensure no cars are parked in the event area and allow for vendor set-up Friday morning, parking will be prohibited on the 100 block of West Washington and the 100 and 200 blocks of South Front Street after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24.

Arts and Culture Office Closed July 18 & 25

The City of Marquette Office of Arts & Culture, located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library, will be closed on Fridays, July 18 and 25, 2025 due to staff attending and coordinating offsite community events.

The Arts & Culture Center studio space and Deo Gallery will remain open during normal Library hours on these days, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Southbound Lakeshore Boulevard Through Traffic Closure

Beginning on Thursday July 17, 2025, Lakeshore Boulevard between Baraga Avenue and US41 will be closed to southbound through traffic between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Southbound traffic will be detoured around the site by means of Front Street/ US41.The purpose of this closure is to accommodate work on the Marquette Cultural Center and Cultural Trail project. It is anticipated that this work will be completed within one week

North Third Street Closures

North Third Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Arch Street and Kaye Avenue from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday July 17, 2025, for the Marquette DDA’s Music on Third Event. The Third Street and Hewitt Avenue intersection will remain open to east-west traffic. Signed detour routes will be provided around the closures.

Tourist Park Beach Closed to Swimming

After the recent rain event, elevated levels of bacteria, specifically E. coli, have been detected at the
Tourist Park swimming beach in Marquette, MI. The beach is closed to swimming until further
notice.


The City of Marquette is collecting water samples daily and will reopen the beach to swimming when
State water quality standards are met.


All other beaches remain open. Signs have been posted at Tourist Park.

Utility Work at Presque Isle Park

Beginning on Monday, July 14, visitor traffic at Presque Isle Park will be impacted due to a sewer and water installation project related to the new bandshell. The park will remain open to visitors during the project, which is expected to be completed by Friday, July 25.

July DDA Meeting Announcement

The Marquette Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors will be holding a special meeting on Thursday, July 31, 2025 to review the proposed Fiscal Year 2026 budget. The special meeting will take place at the Marquette Commons, 112 South Third Street, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
