Lakeview Arena 2023 Summer Public Skating

The City of Marquette announces Lakeview Arena Public Skating Hours for the summer:

Youth Drop-In Hockey                     

Friday 9:00am-10:30am (ages 12U) beginning July 28

Friday 10:30am-12pm (ages 13+) beginning July 28

Public Skate (all ages)                       

Monday-Friday 3:00pm-4:50pm beginning July 24

Saturday 3:00pm-5:00pm 7/22, 7/29, 8/5, 8/26, 9/3

Adult Drop-In Hockey (18 & older)  

Monday 9:30-11:00pm beginning July 17

The public skating schedule will be affected by special events and tournaments.  

Saturday, August 12 there will be no public skating for the Ore to Shore bike race. 

Saturday, August 19 there will be no public skating for a goalie clinic.

July Board of Review Scheduled for July 18, 2023

NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Review, City of Marquette will meet on July 18, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall, Council Chambers, 300 W. Baraga Ave, Marquette, MI for the following purposes.

  1. Request for current year only for poverty exemptions, but not poverty exemptions denied by the March Board of Review.
  2. Request for P.A. 161 of 2013 Disabled Veterans Exemption.
  3. Correct clerical errors or mutual mistake of facts.

All required forms and documentation shall be received five days prior to said meeting.

Marquette City Manager Community Office Hours

Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side).  The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
