Marquette City Manager Community Office Hours
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in the main floor conference room of the Peter White Public Library. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
Planning Commission Meeting Canceled
The Marquette City Planning Commission meeting originally scheduled for April 4, 2023 has been canceled due to lack of business. The next scheduled meeting is April 18, 2023.
City of Marquette Offices Closed for Good Friday
City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; the Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Avenue; the Arts and culture Center, 217 N. Front Street (in the Peter White Public Library); and the Municipal Service Center, 1100 Wright Street, will be closed on Friday, April 7, in observance of Good Friday. Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time.
There will be no change in garbage pickup for City residents.
Marinas Seasonal Slip Agreements to be Mailed
The 2023 Marinas Seasonal Slip Agreements have been mailed to the 2022 seasonal slip holders on March 13, 2023. Payments will be accepted beginning March 14, 2023 at the Community Services Parks and Recreation Office located in Lakeview Arena at 401 E. Fair Avenue.
Joint City Commission/Planning Commission Work Session Canceled
The Joint Marquette City Commission/Planning Commission work session scheduled for Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 5:15 p.m. at the Municipal Service Center, has been canceled.
Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Facility Advisory Board Special Meeting
Per the joint operating agreement, the City of Marquette is calling a Special MAWTAB meeting for Tuesday, March 14, 11:00 a.m. at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The only agenda item will be the Solids Handling Project.
Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Facility Advisory Board March Meeting Rescheduled
The Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Facility Advisory Board (MAWTAB) meeting for March 16, 2023 has been rescheduled. The meeting will be held Thursday, March 2, 2023, 10 a.m., at the Marquette Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Due to predicted inclement weather and limited staffing on Thursday, February 23 and Friday, February 24, please consider utilizing online service and bill payment offices rather than visiting City offices. The following streets will be closed to motor vehicles at the following times.
Friday, February 17th
6:00 a.m. - Washington Street from Third Street to Front Street (closed to through traffic)
6:00 a.m. - Third Street from Spring Street to Bluff Street (closed to through traffic)
6:00 a.m. - Washington Street from Fourth Street to Third Street (closed to through traffic)
A detour route around the closure areas will use Baraga Avenue, Seventh Street, and Bluff Street.
Pedestrian access will be allowed all days throughout all the street closure areas.
Street closures will remain in effect until 4:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18.
