On Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Pine Street from Fair Avenue to Lakeshore Boulevard and Powder Mill Road from County Road 550 to the north end will be closed, and Wright Street from Presque Isle Avenue to Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed to thru traffic for the “Ore to Shore” Mountain Bike Race.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling on Wright Street, Hawley Street, River Park Circle and Schneider Mill Court. Race participants will be crossing at designated locations at varying times.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 5, the 1700 Block of Longyear Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Norwood Street and Center Street. Closure to through traffic is required for water and sanitary sewer replacement. It is anticipated that work will be completed by Thursday, August 6. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
Community Office Hours at the Peter White Public Library with Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs have been canceled for Wednesday, August 13.
At their June 30 regular meeting the Marquette City Commission established a temporary task force charged with evaluating e-bike usage within the city of Marquette, as well as the varied uses of the city's multi-use path network.
The task force will hold an organizational meeting on Tuesday, August 5. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Room #103 at City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Ave.
The Board of Zoning Appeals regular meeting on August 7, 2025, has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be held on September 4, 2025
Harrison Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Lee Street and Fourth Street from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday August 2, 2025, for a block party.
West Ridge Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Sixth Street and Fifth Street from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday August 2, 2025, for a block party.
Baraga Avenue will be closed between Altamont Street and Fifth Street on Tuesday, July 29, due to sewer lateral line replacement work. The closure will begin at 7:00 a.m., and the project is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Spring Street between Third Street and Front Street will be closed from 5:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
Spring Street from Front Street through Lakeshore Boulevard will also be closed, and Lakeshore Boulevard and Front Street will both be closed to through traffic between Main Street and Baraga Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
The course heads south on the City multiuse path, turns around near South Beach Park and continues north following the path to Presque Isle Park. Runners will run around Peter White Drive and return on the path, head west on Hawley street following the path to Wright Street, then Washington Street and back to the finish area on Spring Street.
Motorists are advised to use caution at road crossings and to be alert for runners and road crossing attendants.
