The Marquette City Commission Organizational Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 11.
Please note that the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. per the requirements of the Marquette City Charter (Sec. 2-6).
The Board of Zoning Appeals regular meeting on November 7, 2024, has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be held on December 5, 2024.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, beginning at 6:00 a.m., Michigan Street will be closed to thru traffic between Third Street and Front Street for work being completed at 424 North Third Street. The road is anticipated to be reopened by 12:00 pm. Access to residences on Michigan Street will be maintained via Front Street.
The public is advised to take caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
The October Board Meeting of the Marquette Board of Light and Power has been rescheduled to October 29, 2024 at 4:30. The meeting will be held 2200 Wright Street.
Radisson Street will be closed to through traffic for a water main repair between Bruel Road and School Craft Road on Wednesday, October 23 from 9:00 a.m. until completion. Disruption of water in that area will begin approximately at 10:00 a.m. and will be restored as soon as possible.
Dog and cat licenses and permits for the City’s off-leash area will be unavailable for purchase in the
City Clerk’s Office from October 28 until November 6.
During this time, resources and office space will be dedicated to preparation for the November
Presidential Election, and specifically to absentee voters.
Dog licenses will still be available for purchase from several local vet’s offices and at the Marquette
County Treasurer’s Office. Beginning Wednesday, November 6, licenses and permits will be
available as normal.
DDA TRICK OR TREATING WEST WASHINGTON STREET CLOSURE
On Saturday October 26, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Washington Street will be closed between Fourth Street and Front Street for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority’s annual downtown trick or treating event. The “Social District” will be shut down during the closure. A detour will be provided around the closure. Motorists are asked to take caution when travelling in the area.
