Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed to through traffic for tree work between Main Street and East Ridge Street on Tuesday, July 25. Craig Street will also be closed to through traffic for a sanitary main repair between Adams Street and Division Street on Tuesday, July 25. Both closures begin at 7 a.m., and both projects are expected to be completed by the end of day.

The piers at Founders Landing will be closed to the public at 6 p.m. on July 3, which includes all pedestrian and boat traffic. This closure is to ensure public safety due to the close proximity of the fireworks.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, work will begin on a city-wide sidewalk repair and extension project.

This project will include replacement of various sidewalk squares throughout the city. The motoring public should experience minimal disruptions. Sidewalk removal areas will be clearly marked with construction cones to warn pedestrians.

Please take caution when traveling through construction areas and to be alert for advisory signage.

Fitch Avenue will be closed to through traffic for an emergency sewer lateral replacement between Center Street and Summit Street on Tuesday, July 26, beginning at 3 p.m. This project is expected to be completed by end of day on July 27.

Center Street will be closed to through traffic for a storm main repair between Wilkinson Avenue and Schaffer Avenue, beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, July 25. This project is expected to be completed by the end of the day on July 26.

The Marquette Board of Light and Power Board will be holding a working session on Wednesday, May 4, at 5:30 p.m. The topic of discussion will be the property at 400 E. The offices of the Marquette Board of Light and Power will be closed Friday, April 15 in observance of Good Friday.

In cooperation with the Superior Watershed Partnership and Northern Michigan University Biology Department, the City of Marquette will be closing a portion of Peter White Drive in Presque Isle Park to facilitate the safe migration of the blue-spotted salamander.

The southwest bend of Peter White Drive, from Moosewood Nature Center to the gate north of the pavilion, will close to vehicular traffic daily at 8 p.m. from March 21 to April 30, or until the completion of the migration. Road barricades will be placed and removed daily to prevent vehicular traffic use of the migration area. Foot traffic is permitted in the area during regular park hours.

The Marquette Arts and Culture Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, February 3 to discuss the City Annual Art Awards. The meeting will be held starting at 5:30 p.m. This meeting will be in-person at the Arts and Culture Center located in the lower level of Peter White Public Library, 217 N. Front Street, Marquette.
