April 19 Local Development Finance Authority Meeting: Participation Details

The April 19 LDFA meeting will be held virtually with Board Members and Staff attending remotely through Zoom video conferencing.

The meeting will be streamed on the City of Marquette YouTube channel starting at 4 p.m. The YouTube channel is located at www.youtube.com/user/CityofMarquetteGov. Please note that the livestream will have at least a 20 second delay.

Public Participation

There will be three options for public participation in these meetings: video conferencing, phone conferencing or written comment. There will be two public comment periods for each meeting, one at the beginning and one at the end. Comments will be limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address. Written comments will be limited to 500 words.

Members of the public wishing to call in and make a comment over the phone will need to call 312-626-6799 and enter the meeting ID 825 4853 5671.

When participating via video or phone conferencing, you will be placed into a virtual lobby/on-hold until the Public Comment portions of the meetings are reached. Once Public Comment begins, the Chair will go through each person waiting in the lobby one at a time and provide them with the opportunity to address the Board. It is recommended that participants follow the meeting on YouTube to know when the Public Comment portion is occurring and be ready to make their comment. Parks & Recreation Advisory Board Meeting: Participation Details

The April 19 Parks & Recreation Advisory Board meeting will be held virtually at 5:30 p.m. with Committee members and Staff attending remotely through Zoom video conferencing.

Public Participation
There will be three options for public participation in this meeting: video conferencing, phone conferencing, or written comment. There will be one public comment period at the beginning part of the meeting.  Comments will be limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address.

West Washington Street: 100 Block Streetscape

Streetscape construction on Washington Street between Third Street and Front Street is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21.  The roadway will remain open to traffic throughout most of the project, but street parking will be limited.

Access to businesses and residences will be kept available throughout the project.  The project is scheduled to be completed by June 19.

Arrow Constructions Inc. is the general contractor for this project.

The City of Marquette asks you for your patience during the construction process. 

YMCA Run/Walk on City Multi-Use Path

The YMCA will be holding their annual run/walk on Saturday April 17. They will be utilizing a rolling start with participants beginning between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Both the 5k and 10k courses will start at the YMCA parking lot, head north on the multi-use path along Pine Street, then continue north on the path along Lakeshore Boulevard. The 5k will turn around at the Dead River and return on the same course. The 10k course will continue to Presque Isle, around Peter White Drive, and return on the same course. No roads will be closed for the run, but motorists are asked to use cation when driving in the area.

Washington Street Lane Closure

The north sidewalk and northern most lane of Washington Street will be closed Thursday, April 15in front of 1016 West Washington Street, just east of Rublein Street. All westbound vehicles will be shifted into one lane and no disruptions to through traffic are expected. Smith construction will be working to install utilities in the area. The lane closure will begin at 8:00 a.m. and expected to be reopened by the end of the day. The public is advised to use caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.   

April 14 Marquette Public Art Commission Meeting: Participation Details

The April 14 Marquette Public Art Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting. The meeting will be held virtually starting at 6:30 p.m., with board members and Staff attending remotely. This meeting will be available via ZOOM (directions are provided below).

Public Participation

There will be three options for public participation in this meeting: video conferencing, phone conferencing, or written comment. There will be two public comment periods for the meeting, one near the beginning of the agenda and one at the end. Comments are limited to three minutes and speakers must give their name and address before speaking.

April 14 City Commission Work Session: Participation Details

Due to directives from the State of Michigan, the April 14 City Commission work session will be held at City Hall without the public in physical attendance. The public is invited to view and participate in the meeting electronically.

The meeting will be streamed on YouTube and Channel 191 starting at 5:15 p.m. The YouTube channel is located at www.youtube.com/user/CityofMarquetteGov. Please note that the livestreams may have at least a 20 second delay.
