Derek Griffin has been hired as a new Police Officer effective Monday, October 14th. Derek has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University (NMU) in Criminal Justice. He also obtained his MCOLES certification from NMU’s Police Academy in August of 2019. Prior to working for the City, Derek had been a Police Officer for Chocolay Township.
