City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; the Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Avenue; the Arts and Culture Center, 217 N. Front Street (in the Peter White Public Library); and the Municipal Service Center, 1100 Wright Street, will be closed November 27-29, in observance of Thanksgiving. Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time. There will be no change in garbage pickup for City residents
Presque Isle Park seasonal loop will close for the season on Friday, November 15. The road will be closed to vehicular traffic on this day and will reopen in the spring.
All City parks begin winter hours 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
McClellan Avenue will be closed to northbound traffic for a water hydrant repair between Fair Avenue and Center Street on Tuesday, November 12 from 7:30 a.m. until completion. A detour will be provided.
The Marquette City Commission Organizational Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 11.
Please note that the meeting will begin at 7 p.m. per the requirements of the Marquette City Charter (Sec. 2-6).
The Board of Zoning Appeals regular meeting on November 7, 2024, has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be held on December 5, 2024.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, November 13 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.

On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, beginning at 6:00 a.m., Michigan Street will be closed to thru traffic between Third Street and Front Street for work being completed at 424 North Third Street. The road is anticipated to be reopened by 12:00 pm. Access to residences on Michigan Street will be maintained via Front Street.
The public is advised to take caution when traveling through this area and to be alert for construction and advisory signing.
The October Board Meeting of the Marquette Board of Light and Power has been rescheduled to October 29, 2024 at 4:30. The meeting will be held 2200 Wright Street.
