City offices located at Marquette City Hall, 300 W. Baraga Avenue; the Lakeview Arena, 401 E. Fair Avenue; the Arts and Culture Center, 217 N. Front St. (in the Peter White Public Library); and the Municipal Service Center, 1100 Wright Street, will be closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays on the following days:
Marquette Police, Fire, and Public Works and Utilities will remain operational during this time.
There will be no change in garbage pickup for City residents.
The Harbor Advisory Committee (HAC) meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 13, 2022, has been canceled due to illness. The next scheduled meeting is Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
The Board of Zoning Appeals regular meeting on January 5, 2023, has been canceled. The next scheduled meeting will be held on February 2, 2023.
Beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority will be hosting the annual Holiday Parade. The parade will start at the Berry Events Center parking lot and exit on to Pine Street. The parade will then proceed south on Pine Street to Fair Avenue, then west on Fair Avenue to Third Street, then south on Third Street to its conclusion at Third Street & Baraga Avenue.

The streets will re-open upon conclusion of the parade at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, December 14 from 10 a.m. to noon in the main floor conference room of the Peter White Public Library. The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.
A regular meeting of the Marquette Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the Marquette Commons, 112 South Third Street. The meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m.
Public Participation
There will be two options for public participation in this meeting: in person or written. Written comments can be submitted by emailing jodi@downtownmarquette.org. Written submissions will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
Lakeshore Boulevard will be closed to through traffic between Pine Street and Fair Avenue, for storm structure cleaning on Monday, December 5. This project will begin at 7 a.m. and is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
The water department will be working on a pressure reducing valve located at Pioneer Road and Division Street. Residents in Shiras Hills may experience reduced pressure during the hours of 7:00 am through 3:00 pm on Monday, December 5.
Beginning immediately, West Ridge Street will be closed to through traffic for street maintenance between Meeske Avenue and Granite Avenue. This project is expected to be completed by end of day on Monday, December 5.
